Amphibian conservation

Frogs, toads, newts and salamanders all need multiple habitats for survival, such as water for breeding and moist terrestrial habitats for feeding. Climate change is a major threat, especially if it gets hotter and drier. The surface of their skin is made of living tissue, unlike ours which has layers of dead skin. This makes them very vulnerable to toxic pollutants.

The Amphibian Survival Alliance provides lots of information on amphibians and their conservation through their website, including lots of case studies and their on-line magazine 'Frog Log'.
