Be wary of unreliable sources of information


It is good to read around the subject and get extra information, but you should be very wary of an unknown source, especially if it gives startling news or contradicts accepted knowledge.

As scientists we should always be open-minded, but cautious.

In the 'Post-truth' world there is a lot of nonsense being delivered as truth, such as this story:

Good scientific information is 'peer-reviwed' meaning that it is only published after the wider scientific community have checked that it is reliable.
